Science Meets Lived Experience: How Joelle Barbarulo Helps Clients Build Secure Attachment
Joelle Barbarulo, RN, brings science and lived experience to her Secure Attachment Blueprint, helping clients heal childhood wounds and build healthier relationships.

Why do smart, successful people keep choosing the wrong partners, giving too much, or shutting down when relationships get close? For Joelle Barbarulo, the answer rarely lies on the surface.
Barbarulo, RN, is the founder of Divinity Life Coaching, a relationship coaching practice that works at the root of unhealthy patterns. She is also a speaker and a bestselling author, and she brings more than 16 years of nursing experience and a background in neuroscience to every client conversation.
Looking Beyond Behavior
Most advice about relationships focuses on what people do. Barbarulo is more interested in why they do it.
“As an RN and relationship coach, I look beyond surface behaviors to help clients understand why they think, feel, and respond the way they do,” she says. “We identify the unresolved wounds and survival patterns driving their relationships and work toward lasting emotional transformation, healthier connections, and secure attachment.”
Her approach brings together three things: science, lived experience and emotional transformation.

The Patterns She Targets
Barbarulo’s clients are high-achieving men and women. Many are accomplished professionals who struggle with the same cycles over and over:
- Overgiving
- People-pleasing
- Chasing emotionally unavailable partners
- Shutting down emotionally
Through Divinity Life Coaching, she helps them identify and heal childhood wounds, understand their attachment patterns and address emotional suppression, so they can build self-worth, emotional security and more fulfilling relationships.
The Secure Attachment Blueprint
Her signature offering, the Secure Attachment Blueprint, is designed to help clients create lasting emotional transformation and healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Alongside it, she offers 1:1 mentorship, workshops and transformational resources.
“Are you ready to stop repeating unhealthy patterns and heal the wounds at their root?” she asks prospective clients. “If you’re ready to do the deeper work and transform your life, let’s work together.”
Why It’s Personal
Barbarulo’s work grew out of her own journey of trauma, healing and transformation. She has navigated childhood trauma, divorce and spinal cord injuries, and she raised three children as a single mother while building her career.
Those experiences taught her how childhood wounds and unresolved pain can shape identity and relationships, and they convinced her that her purpose extended beyond caring for the physical body.
A Growing Body of Work
Barbarulo’s achievements reach beyond her coaching practice. She is the bestselling author of Slaying Miami and has published seven additional books. She has been featured on Legacy Makers TV and Inside Success TV, appeared on the cover of Awakening Magazine and earned five-star reviews for her work.
What’s Next
Barbarulo plans to grow as an international speaker and to keep writing books and developing transformational programs that help people heal childhood wounds, break unhealthy patterns and build healthier relationships.
Her guiding belief is captured in her own words: “Your past does not define you. Your wounds do not limit you. What you choose to heal and transform can change the direction of your entire life.”
Advice for Creatives and Founders
For entrepreneurs, she offers a reminder that building a business is personal. “Building a business is a spiritual and personal journey that will test your resilience, patience, and belief in yourself,” she says. “Lead with authenticity, work with passion, trust your path, and remember that success means nothing if you lose yourself along the way.”
